Hello Friends!
Summer is on its last leg, and I feel as if I’ve spent the last two months on the keyboard. Lots going on, as usual.
Fiction News
My big news is that I’ve sold my first fiction story to an anthology! (Insert happy dance, here). This is a mixed blessing, because this particular story is a horror story—not my usual cup of tea—so, it is being published under my nom de plume, Charlotte Vale. This is the only horror I’ve ever written . . . so, naturally, it would be the first to sell. The story is entitled “Riders on the Storm” and will be published next spring by Dark Peninsula Press.
I’ve also sent the first of my Gabrielle Dorian Mystery Series to my editor for round one edits! Hooray! For book one, I’ve decided on the title, Dreams and Illusions. For those of you who haven’t been in from the start, this series follows Gabrielle Dorian, a young woman with the gift of dreams, as she struggles to accept her gift and work with it to solve crimes. The first book in the series, Dreams and Illusions, takes Gabrielle out of the comfort of small-town Whitman, Washington, to Seattle, where she must uncover the truth behind the murder/robbery to save her sister from a death sentence (the series is set in 2000).
I’m beside myself with excitement, because my ARC will soon be receiving your copies for review, AND, I finally get to start working with my artist, Cherie Fox, on the cover art!
Nonfiction News
In nonfiction news, our local paper did a nice article on me about Promise of the Day Devotional for Victorious Living. They did use an old picture, with the cover from my first edition of Loved So Much It Hurts, but hey, publicity is publicity. I will be signing books at Book and Game Co. in Walla Walla, on August 13, from 11am to 2pm. If you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to drop by.
Also, I wanted to ask those of you who have read one of my books to please take a minute to post a review on Amazon, if you haven’t already done so. Thank you to those of you who have. I really appreciate it!
Bunny Tales
I am pleased to announce four new additions to Royalty Rabbitry. These chubby little kits were born to Pecan on July 27th. Their eyes are now open and they are getting very active. We couldn’t be happier.
Our bunnies have done very well in shows this year, and Gracie did an amazing job competing in ARBA Royalty, winning some pretty snazzy ribbons and third runner up to Queen. We’re so proud of her. We’ll be off to Reno this fall to compete at Nationals. The Award-winning bunny in the picture below is Pecan, the proud mama of the new kits.
In other news, I’m getting around much better after my fall. I’ve even started physical therapy. Onward and upward!
