Giving Thanks

Well, Dear Readers,

It has been a month of travel and surprises.

We drove five days through five states to Louisville, KY for the 101st American Rabbit Breeders Conference. It was a lot of fun and our daughter and one of her rabbits won some amazing awards! In all there were three vehicles hauling almost 300 rabbits across the country, and we were blessed to have an uneventful journey.

I got my new bunnies, and two of them also placed in their categories. The five-day drive home was a little more exciting, with a blowout on the trailer and our alternator going out. Of course, I was also treated to my first visit to Hamilton, Missouri (Quilttown, USA), which was AMAZING! Sorry I didn’t get any pictures there  …I kind of lost control 😳

I thought I’d be working on my revisions on the trip, but that didn’t quite work out … That’s where the surprises began. While we were on the road, I started receiving emails informing me that Dreams and Illusions had won another award! I’m dumbfounded!

There was a time in my career when I received nothing but rejections and dreamed that one day I might win one award. Now, I’ve just added my EIGHTH award to my Facebook page! To tell the truth, it has been very humbling, and I find myself wondering if there has been a mistake. But I’m very grateful to my readers who keep me writing and keep my ranking up on Amazon by posting reviews. Thank you!

I had a great interview this month with Emily Dunn on The Write Focus, which will air February 26, 2025. Here’s a little highlight:

“The whimsy on a coffee cup is Rebecca Olmstead’s motto for her writing life.

“In an interview about that technology that started with a tech failure—a laptop crash—Rebecca Olmstead begins by discussing her bravery in moving from Word to Scrivener to Atticus to bring the best experience to readers of her fiction and nonfiction.”

We’re planning a quiet Thanksgiving feast at home this year, hopefully, holding my favorite granddaughter. We have so much to be thankful for, and you are one of them. We wish you all a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving as you count your blessings this year!

Happy Reading!

Rebecca
