Hello again!
I know it isn’t often I post more than once a month, but my husband won’t let me rest until I share my great news.
I knew April would be a crazy month, I just didn’t realize HOW crazy! If you remember, in my Christmas video, I told you all I had entered the NYCMidnight Short Story Challenge. Well, last night I found out that my story, “A Deadly Conundrum,” didn’t just make the final cut, it won 1st place in my category! This is a really big competition, and I am still in shock. I kind of forgot to breath for a moment when I read the news. In a couple days, I’ll get my assignment for the next round in the challenge, and I can’t wait. I was lucky enough to get a mystery genre the first round, but who knows what I’ll get next. Fantasy? Fairytale? Romance? Whatever it is, I’ll be keeping you posted.
In other news . . . I have all of my platforms loaded and ready for the big launch, April 15th. I will have all three formats, ebook, paperback, and hardcover, on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and I’ll also have the ebook available on Google, ibooks, and Kobo! I’m going big this time! After the launch, I’ll go back and get Loved So Much It Hurts on the other platforms as well. Then I’ll be recording my audio books. Makes me dizzy just thinking about it!
Of course, that wasn’t enough on my plate . . . I also signed up for another round of NANOWRIMO. As we speak, I’m working on my third installment of the Gabrielle Dorian Mystery Series. I know . . . I’m crazy. But I seem to work better when I have a deadline. While I’m revising the first mystery for my ARC (Advance Readers Club), I thought I’d start sending short stories for some feedback. After the big launch, of course. If you haven’t signed up for my ARC and want to be the first to read my stories and books, drop me an email at contact@rebeccaolmstead.com, with your mailing address, and I’ll add you to the list.
Until then, I thought I’d send you a couple pictures of my beautiful daughter, Carolynn Grace, and her award-winning bunnies, Washington Irving, and November Snow. Spring has sprung!
