Garden 2023

Sunny July

Greetings, Dear Readers!

Lots of news to share. It has been a very busy month!

Writing News

My story “Daddy” was reprinted in Live magazine, which is the second of my stories they’ve printed twice, so that was fun. This fall they will be publishing a brand new story of mine which recalls memories of Thanksgiving on my grandparents’ farm. It’s called “Grandma’s Legacy.”

I just received Dreams and Illusions from my editorial team for the final go-thru, which means release day will soon be upon us! I’m so excited. It’s wonderful to hear both of your editors say you’ve written a great novel. ☺️

One change to my plans has been the addition of a launch team. Their plans include a period of time when the ebook will be free. But I do hope you will join my ARC team in paying the $.99 increase and here is why I’m asking: Reviews. When you leave a review on Amazon (and I hope you all will) the algorithm pays more attention to “verified purchases.” Even if it’s only $.99. In fact, sometimes they won’t even publish reviews that aren’t “verified purchases.”

Of course, if you are a member of my ARC, you can look forward to a signed paperback copy, once your review goes live. If you’re not a member and want to be, drop me a line, and I’ll add you to the list. ☺️

In other writing news, my short story, “Love and Death in Madison, Georgia” will be available for pre-order next month, in Malice, Matrimony, & Murder! We had a lot of donations on our Kickstarter campaign, so a lot of readers are enjoying their free books and other gifts already. I’m sure the Whodunit woven throughout the collection will also be a huge hit!

I have also created a new offering for my Etsy store, WGWInspirations. It is a printable journal for spiritual healing, and it’s only $5.95. I’ve already made one sale, and I hope it will bless everyone who uses it to bring healing and closure to their wounds. I intend to design more journals as time permits.

And, last but not least, Loved So Much It Hurts has been long listed for the Chanticleer Journey Award! Isn’t that great news? The next round of judging will be for the short list, and finally for the finalists. I’ll keep you posted. It’s such an honor to be chosen for the next round.

Health News

Earlier this month, I underwent my first surgery for Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence, and it went very well. The ear pain has subsided at this point, but my hearing and balance hasn’t fully been restored. The doctor says it will be a while, so in the meantime, I do what I can from bed.

I’m so happy my shoulder has completely healed, and I have almost full range of motion!

Bunny News

My little doe, Lovely had three little ones while we were away at the Washington State Rabbit Breeders Association Convention! Luckily, we had a great caretaker to keep an eye on them, and they were all happy and healthy when we got home. That makes 10 babies in all. The Jr.s have done very well in shows, and Carolynn did an amazing job in her competitions, winning among other awards, first runner-up for Queen, and overall high point for judging! She even won a scholarship for Nationals in Kentucky this October! We’re very proud of her.

Garden News

The garden has started producing, despite the fact that we were late getting it in. My hubby has been so good caring for it since I’m not yet allowed to weed and pick. So far we’ve had zucchini, cucumbers, and green beans. ☺️

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer with your families and some good reads. I’ll be writing more very soon.

Until then,

Happy reading!

Rebecca
